Dozens of people are holding a rally for immigrant rights in front of Escondido City Hall this morning. KPBS Reporter Kenny Goldberg has the story.
The rally got underway before eight this morning in front of a busy intersection in downtown Escondido.
Latinos of all ages took part in the protest. Most of them are members of a local Pentecostal church
They waved American flags at cars passing by. A group of people held up a massive American flag, measuring at least ten by ten feet.
Protester Grace Montoya says it's time to treat immigrants with respect.
Montoya: "I'm asking, actually I'm pleading with people to legalize them and have some heart. Because these people do not do any harm. All these people work and they pay their taxes."
Montoya says Latino immigrants love this country as much as anyone else.
