Cynthia Porchas drove 120 miles from El Centro to watch the game with her friends. She says it's important to see positive images of Mexico right now, given the rising hostility towards Latinos around San Diego County.

Porchas: "It's putting Mexico in a different light, showing off the red white and green for something that they really are. You know, it's not just about sports. It's about being mentally strong, you know, aside from the physically strong. It's not just Mexicans with all this immigration crap going on. We're about a lot more than that. A lot more."

Unfortunately for Mexico, Angola, which is ranked 52 places below the "red white and green" held the game to a goal-less deadlock.

Mexico goes on to face Portugal next Wednesday.

The United States takes on Italy tomorrow afternoon.
