The Solana Beach City Council has voted to adopt a set of restrictions that will limit the size of homes west of Interstate 5. Tom Fudge speaks with people on both sides of the issue.

Solana Beach takes aim at mansions near the beach

The Solana Beach City Council has voted to adopt a set of restrictions that will limit the size of homes west of Interstate 5. Proponents of the measure say it's necessary to preserve the character of the community and prevent construction of homes that will tower over their neighbors. Opponents say the new ordinance is an affront to property rights and personal freedom.
