Proposed Toll Road Sparks Debate Over Impact on San Onofre State Park
Maureen Cavanaugh (Guest Host): This week, a study conducted by the American Rivers group named the San Mateo Creek in San Clemente as the second-most threatened river in the nation. The main reason? Plans for a large highway development in the area. Transportation Corridor Agencies -- the group behind the toll road plan -- says that it is putting systems in place to stop pollution of nearby waterways and actually make them cleaner! The Surfrider Foundation couldn't disagree more. From the effect on the perfect Trestles waves to the noise of the toll road, there isn't much these two sides agree on.
