Forecasters in San Diego County say that today's warmer temperatures are a just a taste of what's to come this week. The National Weather System reports that a high pressure system is creating the conditions for a heat wave throughout Southern California.
Forecaster Stan Wiskowski says the system will peak around the fourth of July, and return to normal by Saturday.
Just like every July, you're going to see triple digits out there. Anywhere from, in the deserts, maybe a 114 to 118 or119 -- that's in the deserts. In the mountains, we'll probably see anywhere from 98 to possibly up to maybe a 104 or 105.
If you're looking for a break from the heat, the beaches will remain in the mid 70s all week.
