Mountain lion traps have been set around the Cal State San Marcos campus in the wake of recent sightings.

University spokesman George Cagala says a maintenance crew spotted a mountain lion several times earlier this month by the library and at the rear of the campus. The sightings were always late at night.

Officials from the state Department of Fish and Game found tracks in the area earlier this month.

Workers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's wildlife unit set the traps.
