Sorting Out the Legal Rights of Kids
Maureen Cavanaugh : Pediatricians often tell parents to remember that children are not "little adults." Kids often have different health concerns and treatments just because they are children. They can have significantly different rights and responsibilities based on their age and the interest society has in protecting their welfare.
In our legal segment today, we focus on three areas involving the rights and interests of children. Two involve the rights of school children. The third case involves the right of a parent to withhold medical treatment for religious reasons.
