A Ku Klux Klan-like hood was found on the statue of Theodore Geisel at UC San Diego's library yesterday. This is another racially charged incident that has surfaced at UCSD since the so-called Compton Cookout party a few weeks ago.
Campus police promptly removed the hood when it was found late last evening. University officials say the District Attorney's office, the U.S. Attorney General's office and the FBI are now investigating the rash of racially inflammatory incidents on campus.
Meanwhile, campus officials say they continue to work with black student leaders on implementing a list of demands to help encourage diversity on campus.
