San Diego Woman, 26, Among Those Wounded In Kenya Attack

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A 26-year-old woman from San Diego was among those wounded when armed gunmen attacked a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, killing at least 68.

U-T San Diego reports Elaine Dang, a 2005 graduate of Torrey Pines High School, is expected to make a full recovery.

The extent of Dang's injuries is unclear, but a photo on her Twitter page showed her with a bandaged head.

On Sunday outside the Dang family's home in Del Mar, her father told KGTV that he believes his daughter suffered injuries to her "chest, arm and leg."

The newspaper says Dang is general manager for Eat Out Kenya, a website that helps connect people to local bars and restaurants.

At least 175 people were hurt when gunfire broke out at Kenya's Westgate Mall on Saturday.
