"Hollywood" at La Jolla Playhouse
La Jolla Playhouse's world premiere play based on the true story of director William Desmond Taylor's unsolved murder. Written by Joe DiPietro ("Memphis," "Chasing the Song") and directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, the play is a noir thriller set in the Golden Age of movies.
"42nd Street" at Spreckels Theatre
Staged by San Diego Musical Theatre, the beloved musical is about fresh-faced Peggy Sawyer's arrival in the Big Apple, setting her sights on Broadway. The show features many tap numbers and songs like "I Only Have Eyes for You," "We’re in the Money," and of course, "42nd Street."
The Boy Who Danced On Air at Diversionary Theatre
Set in Afghanistan, this serious show centers on the illegal - but still practiced - tradition of bacha bazi, wealthy older men who buy boys from poor families. This musical follows the story of Paiman and Feda, two boys who have spent their lives within the tradition. They meet by chance, develop feelings for each other and go on a journey toward making a new life.
Cathedrals: Jeff Ray at SDSU Downtown Gallery
A site-specific, multi-sensory installation by San Francisco Bay-area artist, Jeff Ray. In this exhibition Ray explores the intersection between nature and architecture, reimagining familiar structures (like cathedrals) as monuments.

A comedic drama by Neil Simon that follows a recent widower who in encouraged to start dating again, only to be discouraged by bad matches.
