Grossmont College in El Cajon is one of about a dozen open-enrollment colleges newly added to Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers program, it was announced today.
Schools selected for the Dreamkeepers program typically enroll large numbers of underserved, low-income and first-generation college students, according to Scholarship America.
The average student grant through the Dreamkeepers program is $523 and can be used for housing, utilities, meals, childcare, transportation or car repairs.
Since 2004, Scholarship America has distributed $1.1 million in grants through its Dreamkeepers program.
