A Pacific storm of moderate intensity will move through San Diego County tonight through Saturday, bringing with it rain and mountain snow, forecasters said.
The storm will also bring wind gusts of over 40 miles per hour in the mountains and adjacent deserts, and a slight chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
High surf with occasional sets of 8 feet or more will be possible over the weekend due to a west swell associated with the storm, forecasters said.
Rainfall estimates are between a quarter and a half-inch near the coast and an inch or more for southwest-facing mountain slopes.
The snow level will be around 5,500 feet, with 3 to 6 inches of snow possible, forecasters said.
The storm expected today should clear out by Sunday but another system could strike San Diego County early next week, with more rain and snow possible, according to the Weather Service.
