Trick-or-treating door-to-door like we're used to is discouraged this Halloween because of the COVID-19, but the city of San Diego is offering a safe alternative.

Twenty-seven recreation centers throughout the city are handing out free grab-and-go candy bags for families through Saturday.

To maximize social distancing, the locations are either drive-thru or walk-up. Children are encouraged to dress up in their costumes.

In compliance with the public health order, face coverings are required.
