Taliban Sympathizers Take Refuge in Pakistan

A spate of recent incidents has prompted fears that the war in Afghanistan may be spilling across the border into Pakistan's historically restive tribal areas.

Foreign journalists and aid workers are routinely blocked from visiting, and some parts are no-go areas even for the Pakistani army.

The region's independent nature and proximity to Afghanistan has made it home to many supporters of the Taliban, and possibly to al-Qaida operatives.
