Sept. is Too Soon for Surge Report, Officers Say

Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, will report back to Congress in September on how the administration's troop surge is working.

But last week, senior military officers said they will need more time to assess how things are going in Iraq — and they'll need the surge to continue perhaps well into next year.
