U.N. World Food Crisis Talks Open

The U.N.'s summit on the world's food crisis opens in Rome on Tuesday with calls for reform of international agriculture and controversy over two world leaders attending the conference. U.N. officials called for an end to trade barriers and export bans, and asked wealthy nations to stop using farm subsidies, which distort world food production.

The presence of Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, however, has been diverting attention away from the conference itself.
