Carolina Ramos

Since 2003, Carolina Alcoser Ramos has been the coordinator of Latino – Latina Services for the San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center. She previously worked as a case manager for homeless youth at the LGBT Center and at the Polanski Center for Children. Ramos is a co-founder of the Black/Brown Coalition, a national organization to bring together African-American and Latino people. She has served San Diego as a Human Relations Commissioner; a member of the San Diego Unified School District Superintendent’s Commission on LGBT issues in Education; a sensitivity trainer to the San Diego City Social Services Department; and also speaks at schools, universities and military bases throughout San Diego on issues of LGBT equality and immigrant rights. Ramos has served as the Regional Director of Bienestar Human Services as an advocate for victims of domestic violence, homeless youth, and children in protective custody; and as a domestic violence advocate for the Palomar Pomerado Health Family Violence Program. Carolina has also served on the Board of Directors of PACTO Latino Aids Organization- an organization offering bilingual case management and prevention-outreach programs.
