A Zumper national report published in April found that San Diego area rent prices are among the most expensive in the country, with the local median rental price rising above that of Los Angeles and San Jose.
The report indicates that two-bedroom units had a $3,050 median price, up more than 27% year-over-year. In Chula Vista, the one-bedroom rate increased nearly 39% since last year, and in Oceanside it was up almost 29.5% in the same period.
KPBS is looking to talk to locals who are feeling the pinch of high rents and residential real estate prices, on top of utility bills going up and rising interest rates. How are these factors shaping your choices about where to live in San Diego — or whether to leave the area?
Your stories and experiences could be included in upcoming reporting on the consequences of high housing costs in San Diego County.
