There’s plenty going on in the arts this weekend, but some of the biggest events coming to San Diego are actually happening mid-week: Elton John’s farewell tour, Isabella Rossellini’s circus-themed show and a renowned dance troupe from China.
Elton John

After more than 50 years, Elton John is giving up life on the road with the "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour.
John's career began in the 1970s with hits that include "Your Song," "Rocket Man," "Benny and the Jets," "Candle in the Wind" and "Don’t Go Breaking My Heart." In the 1980s and 1990s, the musician worked with symphony orchestras, wrote music for "The Lion King" and was knighted by the Queen of England.
This three-hour show will focus on fan favorites, career highlights and other music from throughout his career.

Choreographer Wang Yuanyuan roots her dances in Chinese traditions, but blends them with contemporary movements that are often thought-provoking and innovative.
At this show, selections from her version of "Hamlet" will be showcased, a piece that interprets Hamlet as a man confronting his melancholy and doubt in the face of death. Also on the program is "Wild Grass," which is inspired by the poetry of Chinese literary giant Lu Xun.
