Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer. But this weekend, crowds at San Diego's beaches and restaurants were lighter than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The holiday marked the return of dine-in service at local restaurants — a big relief for the many eateries that have seen their staff, profits and prospects shrivel during the two months of takeout-only business. But the restaurant reopening is not a return to normal. Modifications and safety measures will make dining out quite different for the foreseeable future.
PJ Lamont, one of the owners of Raglan Public House in Ocean Beach, joined Midday Edition Monday to talk about what reopening means for his business.
