Lance Cpl. Joshua Corral, known as "Chachi" to his friends, was killed November 18th in Helmand province, Afghanistan at the young age of 19. According to the Department of Defense, Corral was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment at Twentynine Palms.
Corral grew up in Danville, California. A friend of Corral's family namedChristine Mahoney told the San Jose Mercury News that Corral was an inspiration to other students at San Ramon High School, where he graduated in 2010:
