Military Dog Handler Killed In Afghanistan (Video)

Petty Officer 2nd Class Sean E. Brazas always loved dogs, so it was no surprise that when he joined the Navy, he trained to become a Military Working Dog handler.

Brazas was killed May 30th in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. Brazas' father told the Greensboro-News Record his son died from gunshot wounds while trying to assist another service member into a helicopter. As for Brazas' K-9 partner:

Sicario was with him at the time of his death, but survived. Sicario was treated for heat stress and is expected to be OK.

Brazas was assigned to Naval Base Kitsap Security Detachment in Bremerton, Washington. He is survived by his wife and a 13-month-old daughter.
