A Navy security boat moored on the eastern shore of San Diego Bay near the foot of Broadway was the scene of a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon, according to City News Service.
The death was called in to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department at 3:45 p.m., and medics pronounced the shooting victim dead at the scene, according to SDFRD spokesman Maurice Luque.
A Navy spokesman told CNS that details about the death of the unidentified victim were not immediately available. It will be up to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service to figure out whether the death was an accident, a homicide, or a suicide.
