In honor of Veterans Day, restaurant chains and retailers on Nov. 11 are offering all sorts of discounts and freebies for active-duty military, veterans, and reservists.

-Home Depot - 10 percent off up to $500 on a single-receipt purchase.
-Cost Plus World Market - 20 percent off everything in the store (except alcohol).
-Bed Beth & Beyond- 20 percent off your entire in-store purchase.
-B&Bs for Vets offers veterans a free night at a Bed and Breakfast. Click here to find a participating B&B near you.
A website called The Military Wallet has a complete rundown of restaurants where those who've served can get served a free meal on Veterans Day. Here's just a taste:
• Applebee’s. Free meal from special menu. Beverage and gratuity not included.
• BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Complimentary lunch, up to $9.95.
• California Pizza Kitchen. Choose a pizza, full size salad, or pasta from the special Veterans Day Menu.
• Carraba’s. Free appetizer of your choice.
• Chick-fil-A. Free Entrée with beverage. ID required. Participating locations only.
• Chili’s. Free lunch combo during lunch hour, or free meal from special menu during dinner hour. Participating locations only.
• Denny’s. Free Build Your Own Grand Slam, from 5 a.m. to Noon. Participating locations only.
• Einstein Bros Bagels. Free coffee at participating locations.

• Hooters. Free meal, up to $10.99 value, with any drink purchase.
