The Military Times has released its list of the 100 top four-year universities for veterans.
Local schools making the cut include California State University San Marcos (#20), San Diego State University (#38), and the University of San Diego (#84).
The Military Times complied the list based on several factors:
Broadly speaking, schools were evaluated in five categories: university culture, academic quality, student support, academic policies and financial aid.
The Military Times also took into account whether the universities accepted academic credits for military training, charged students a rate at or below the military's Tuition Assistance cap, and if the tuition charged by the school would be 100 percent covered by the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
The only schools in California to make the Military Times list of the 20 best two-year colleges (community colleges) for veterans were Pasadena City College (#2) and Norco College in Riverside (#20).
