Members of the Occupy San Diego movement plan to march at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Civic Center Plaza to downtown San Diego Police headquarters.
Kali Katt, who is with Occupy San Diego, said the march is in support of nine Occupy protesters, who Katt said were arrested illegally the night of Nov. 28.
"Most of the people who were arrested were simply either standing there or sitting on the stairs in the Civic Center Plaza watching a movie on a laptop computer," Katt said. "They were charged with loitering, illegal lodging, obstructing an officer. And the people who were charged with these offenses just weren't doing those things."
She said protesters will probably hold a rally once the march reaches San Diego Police headquarters.
"To show support for the people who were arrested and to show our disdain for the unlawful arrests by the San Diego Police Department," said Katt.
The nine Occupy San Diego arrests Monday night brought the total arrests to 128 since protests started Oct. 7, according to the police.
San Diego Police say the nine protesters were attempting to pitch tents in the civic plaza behind City Hall. Police are enforcing a municipal code ordinance banning camping in public places.
Last week, a federal judge rejected a request from Occupy San Diego protesters to restrain the police from enforcing the ordinance.
