Protesters called on Reps. Susan Davis and Scott Peters to vote "no" on the new free trade agreement, Aug. 11, 2015.

A group of protesters Tuesday called on two local Congressional representatives to explain their stances on a proposed free trade pact.

Reps. Scott Peters and Susan Davis were the target of a group opposed to the Trans Pacific Partnership.

So Cal Fair Trade Campaign spokesperson Nicole Gochmanosky asked the pair of Democratic congressional representatives to explain their record on the pact.

“Ask Susan Davis and Scott Peters to vote 'no' on the TPP and ask them why they voted to fast track the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement,” Gochmanosky said.

The pact is a trade deal the U.S. and 11 other countries are currently negotiating. According to trade officials, the U.S. exported $698 billion worth of goods and services to the 11 countries in 2013. Adding up to 44 percent of American exports.

The protesters said the pact could negatively impact all kinds of things from jobs, to the environment, to net neutrality.
