A 26-year-old woman fought off a man who attempted to pull her into a pickup truck early Friday near City Heights, police said.
The would-be kidnapper drove by the woman several times as she was walking along El Cajon Boulevard near 44th Street before he eventually got out and grabbed her around 2:45 a.m., San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said. He tore her shirt and scratched her arm in the attack.
The suspect tried to pull the woman into an older burgundy Toyota Tundra with a camper shell, but she punched him in the face, ran into the middle of the street and began screaming for help, Cali said. Her attacker then drove off.
Police described the suspect as a man in his 30s with short hair who had the hood of a gray sweatshirt pulled up over his head.
