Role of Creationism in Public Schools

Audio

Tom Fudge : Intelligent design is a theory of how life was created on earth that is favored by Christians. Some people call it science, but the scientific community calls it religion. In fact, most of them call it creationism with a new name.

Intelligent design was literally on trial in the state of Pennsylvania. Parents in the Dover school district challenged a school board decision to order science teachers to make negative statements about the theory of evolution. A judge ruled in favor of the parents, and ordered the school district to cease and desist.

Robert T. Pennock will discuss The Ground Rules of Science: Why the Judge Ruled Intelligent Design Creationism Out of Court tonight at 7 p.m. at UCSD’s RIMAC Arena. The event is free and open to the public.

Guest
  • Robert T. Pennock , professor of science and philosophy at Michigan State University, co-founder and president of Michigan Citizens for Science, and author of Tower of Babel: The Evidence Against the New Creationism.
