Tom Fudge : Reading Ted Koppel’s bio on the NPR website makes you wonder whether it’s riddled with typos. For instance, it says right here he has won 41 Emmy awards, 8 Peabody awards and 10 duPont-Columbia awards. That can’t be right!

But, when you get down to it, you can measure Ted Koppel’s achievements however you want. And they will always tell the story of one of the most respected, and accomplished careers in broadcast journalism. Ted Koppel is, and probably always will be, best know as the former host of Nightline , the ABC news program he hosted for 25 years. Koppel has also covered wars in Vietnam and the Middle East. And now, the folks at National Public Radio are happy to say he’s on their team.

Ted Koppel is a senior news analyst for NPR. He is in town to deliver a speech to a conference for America's Community Bankers at the Manchester Grand Hyatt downtown.
