High Wind Advisory Tonight in Mountain and Desert Counties

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Advisory until 9 p.m. in the mountains and deserts of San Diego County. The weather service says gusts could clock in at up to 55 miles per hour.

Because of the winds, there's also an Airport Weather Warning for Lindbergh Field in San Diego for winds up to 35 miles an hour. The warning continues until 6 p.m. tonight.

National Weather Service Forecaster Miguel Miller:

Miller : Well the winds are going to decrease overnight so the county’s going to get rid of their winds tonight.

Miller says the wind advisory means limited visibility tonight in the deserts because of blowing sand and dust.

There’s also a high surf advisory for the beaches through Friday and a gale warning for the coastal waters of Southern California. Forecasters expect dangerous rip currents for the beaches through Saturday.
