Prominent Activist Discusses Civil Rights Issues in the U.S.

Tom Fudge:  Our national conversation about race and racism includes many voices.  And Eric Mann has provided one of them.  Mann is director of the Labor-Community Strategy Center in Los Angeles. And he hosts a program about political activism on Voices from the Frontlines , a radio show on KPFK Pacifica 90.7 FM in Los Angeles. His is the unmistakable voice of the left. Mann believes in reparations for slavery. He even says we should consider giving black Americans a portion of the country so they can secede from the nation.

Eric Mann has written several books. His last one is about racism and Hurricane Katrina called, Katrina's Legacy: White Racism and Black Reconstruction in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

Eric Mann will be speaking this Thursday, February 22, from 3-5 p.m. at the Robinson Auditorium at UCSD.
