The Oceanside Chargers? Well, the team says it won't change its name. But now the Bolts will seriously consider moving to Oceanside. The team is looking at a 70-acre golf course just east of Interstate-5. Mark Fabiani is the Chargers' special legal counsel.

Fabiani: The North County location is clearly attractive because much of our fan base is in North County, and there are huge markets in Los Angeles, Anaheim and the Inland Empire that don't have football teams. Oceanside is relatively close to those markets.

Fabiani says the site is also attractive because it's close to mass transit. If negotiations with Oceanside go well, the Chargers would have to make the case to voters in 2008. National City and Chula Vista are also in the running. For KPBS, I'm Andrew Phelps.
