Transformers Turned Into Graphic Novel by Local Publisher

Tom Fudge: This week, Transformers, the movie, opened in theaters. The film is based on the Transformer toy, that's been popular for quite a while. The movie also presents an opportunity to a San Diego publishing company that's built quite a reputation in the comic book industry.

IDW Publishing has become known for creating comics and adapting shows like CSI to the comic book form. The company now has a deal with the movie studio to publish two graphic novels that are based on the transformers movie. One is a movie prequel and one is an adaptation of the film.
