Balboa Park Shows Legendary Dead Sea Scrolls

Tom Fudge: Starting next week, and for six months thereafter, the Dead Sea Scrolls will be in Balboa Park. The documents are among the oldest surviving examples of written communication the world has found. They were discovered in the last century in caves in what are now Israel and Jordan. Some of them feature ancient manuscripts of the Old Testament.

Now they're due to be shown at the Museum of Natural History in Balboa Park. How did that come about? Joining me to talk about the exhibition, which will be one of the most impressive San Diego has ever hosted, are Michael Hager and Risa Levitt Kohn.
