Tom Fudge : This June several strong candidates are challenging incumbent San Diego City Attorney Mike Aguirre in his race for re-election. Two of those challengers are members of the city council, which has had so many tussles with Aguirre over recent years. City Council President Scott Peters is in the race. So is 5th District councilman Brian Maienschein.
Maienschein, like the other serious contenders in this race, is a licensed California Attorney. He worked as a business attorney before running for council in 2000. He is a Republican. But what does he stand for, and why does he think he can improve the way business is done in the City Attorney's office?
