The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says a special three-day inspection at the nuclear power plant starts Monday and is expected to take several days.
It will be the third special inspection in the last 12 months for the facility.
The NRC team wants to make sure the utility fixed electrical problems with crucial backup power systems.
The NRC says the problems with electrical connections had affected the operation of an emergency diesel generator and batteries that are used to supply power during some accident conditions.
NRC spokesman Victor Dricks says the agency is also concerned about how plant operator Southern California Edison handled the problems.
Dricks: The response or corrective action that was taken or not taken once the problems were identified. He says the agency is concerned about the number of failures.
