Secretary of State: Election Went Off Without a Hitch

California’s Secretary of State says things went off without a hitch today. Debra Bowen says her office did a full review after some problems were reported during February’s primary election.

California’s Secretary of State says things went off without a hitch today. Debra Bowen says her office did a full review after some problems were reported during February’s primary election.

Bowen: I believe we were able to correct all of the problems and mistakes that were of any significance. We don’t have the double bubble problem in Los Angeles County that caused so much confusion. We’re not hearing reports of people who haven’t been given the correct ballot.

You may remember that in February, there were issues with decline-to-state voters. Statewide there were questions about which ballots they could vote – and in Los Angeles they had to fill out an extra bubble on the ballot – which confused some people. Bowen says the counties have worked to correct those problems.
