Tom Fudge: Next week, same-sex couples will be able to get married in California. Gay rights activists and many gay couples will regard June 17th as a day of celebration. But most of us know the legal fight over same-sex marriage is not yet over. California voters will consider a constitutional amendment in November that could, once again, limit marriage to heterosexual couples. Also, what about same-sex couples in registered domestic partnerships? Do those partnerships just go away when you get married, or do they need to be legally dissolved? And if a same-sex couple gets married in California, will their marriage be recognized anywhere else?
