Republicans in the California Assembly are pushing a package of nearly two dozen bills they say will help California secure its border.

Republicans in the California Assembly are pushing a package of nearly two dozen bills they say will help California secure its border.

The measures include repealing laws that allow undocumented immigrants' to pay in-state college tuition fees. Assemblyman Bob Huff says the legislation isn't meant to target one particular ethnic group.

Huff: I want to be clear, this is not anti-Latino, this is about securing our borders, this is about trying to close loopholes that let other people be employed before our own citizens.

Another bill would outline a process to revoke business licenses for employers who hire illegal immigrants.

A spokesman for Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez called the bills "extreme" and said they would "go nowhere" in the legislature.
