A study by an environmental group shows temperatures in California are getting hotter especially in the Central Valley. The study done by Environment California blames global warming.
It shows since 2000 the average temperature in California has gone up over one degree compared to the previous 30 year average. Bernadette Del Chiaro with the group says the change is significant.
Del Chiaro: Global warming is increasing temperatures throughout California. And while an increase of one or two degrees may seem small, as any parent of a sick child will tell you, a small increase in temperature can have a big effect.
The report says the Central Valley region saw some of the most dramatic increases last year.
The average temperature in Redding went up one-point-four degrees. Stockton saw an increase of one point-five degrees and the average in Fresno rose by 1.6.
