San Diegans Face Rising Healthcare Costs

Tom Fudge :  Today, we're coming to you from the grounds outside the Logan Heights Family Health Center . We're here today to tell the story of the uninsured.

You'll hear from someone who has tried to profile the uninsured population in California. You'll hear the story of one man who lives without health care coveage, and has seen his family uninsured for several years. He'll tell us what it means to face a medical emergency when you have no way to pay for it.
And we'll speak with two San Diego doctors about the goal of Universal Coverage. Everybody thinks it's a good idea, but the way to reach that goal is where opinions diverge.
