Above: Morgan Justice-Black sent in a picture of the staff at I Love A Clean San Diego. Instead of people's names, he sent me this caption of costume IDs: FROM LEFT: Before & After, Zombie, Harlequin, Orbit Girl, “baby” sitter, the Rock Obama, Luigi)
I'm overwhelmed by the number of San Diegans who have come up with clever and gruesome Halloween costumes over the years.
To those of you who've already joined in the fun, thanks for sharing your costumes with readers here at Culture Lust (check back over the next week to see your picture!)
To those of you who haven't sent in a picture yet, what's up? Lemme see those costuming skillz!
I'll be posting the submitted pictures in batches of over the next week, so you have plenty of time to send me your Halloween best.
Email your pics to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And for the first batch, we have....
Above: This is one for the Culture Lusters in all of us. Brandon & Kara Leen's homemade Halloween costumes, "Mona & Munch." Nice!
Above: Kevin Walsh sent this picture to me...I'll admit, it's one of my faves. The title? "Michael Vick's Dog Walker."
Above: Bruce Rogow, KPBS Director of Television Operations, in electronic overalls. Bruce told me he attached electronic luminescent wiring into the seams of his overalls to create the effect.
Above: Ciarra Briesch as David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. I may steal this idea for my Halloween future!
Above: Ciarra Briesch as Rosie the Riveter, a girl after my own heart. Check out Ciarra's punk band Lady Parts on Nov. 12th at the Whistle Stop.
Above: Sam Belfer and Patricia Collins as Guy in Leisure Suit (starring chest hair) and Monica Lewinsky.
Above: Trista Roland in her Iron Girl costume that she made herself. Pretty amazing! You can see more of Trista's work at http://sugardale.blogspot.com/.
