Weekend Closure For Three Trolley Stations

Three San Diego Trolley stations in the South Bay will be closed for the weekend as part of a project to overhaul the Blue Line, according to the Metropolitan Transit System.

The stations at San Ysidro, Beyer Boulevard and Iris Avenue will close at 9:30 p.m. and regular service will resume on Monday morning, according to MTS.

During the closure, a shuttle bus will take passengers between stations. The buses will run every 8-15 minutes.

The closures are part of a larger $620 million project to improve the Blue and Orange lines. Improvements include raising platforms, replacing rail and overhead wiring, upgrading switching and signaling and adding 57 new low-floor trolleys.
