Anyone who drives up the coast on Interstate 5 knows the freeway will be virtually impassible in 10 years if something isn't done. The question is what? There was an outcry when CALTRANS announced plans to expand I-5 by 6 lanes.

"The freeway will be impassible"...then abandon the freeway! What a silly mode of getting about, one in a car. Nowhere else in the world could such wasteful lifestyles be on display as in the United States. Are we really going to wait until transportation goes to hell before we start trying?
