The last of the notorious Arellano-Felix brothers arrived in San Diego today to face prosecution for his alleged role in running Tijuana’s biggest drug cartel.
Eduardo Arellano-Felix, 55, is scheduled to appear before a federal judge on Tuesday, to face charges of drug trafficking, racketeering and money laundering.
He’s accused of playing a key role in running the notorious Arellano-Felix cartel, which long controlled drug trafficking routes between between Tijuana and San Diego and Mexicali and Calexico. Prosecutors say their proceeds reached the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Arellano-Felix was arrested following a shootout at his Tijuana home in 2008, and extradited to San Diego after multiple failed appeals.
Two of his brothers are currently serving U.S. prison sentences for their roles in the cartel’s operations.

It'd be interesting for our law enforcement to bring down the top U.S. drug cartel leaders with the same conviction we see them going after foreigners. These bad guys don't always come from different countries. We have our share here too.
