Tom Fudge: Good photographs can be described in many ways. Some say they’re like paintings. Some say they’re like poems. Photographs also tell a story. And in a new exhibition at the Museum of Photographic Arts, the storytelling aspect of photography takes center stage.
The Balboa Park museum has put together an exhibition called Tell Me a Story: Narrative Photography Now . It features the work of photographers who make storytelling a principal part of their work. Often they stage or pose their subjects. Sometimes they insert themselves into the scene.
Tell Me a Story: Narrative Photography Now opens this weekend at the Museum of Photographic Arts. The exhibit will be on view through May 13 th .
