SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The House Ethics Committee is dropping its investigation of Congressman Bob Filner's altercation with a baggage employee at Dulles International Airport.
The committee released a statement Wednesday that said members unanimously agreed the California Democrat demonstrated "poor conduct" that reflected badly on the House of Representatives.
Filner entered a no-contest plea last month to misdemeanor trespassing charges after prosecutors dropped assault and battery counts. He was fined $100. He apologized to the airline worker who accused him of trying to shove past her into an employee-only area after his bags were delayed August 19th.
Filner is in his eighth term representing a district on California's southern border.
