A Year of Great Local Radio: Economic Crisis
Tom Fudge : The economic crisis has consumed a lot of the media's time this year. And the recession has not left the San Diego region untouched. KPBS's Envision San Diego project has been tracking the local impact. One of their stories looked at the County's food stamps program. Only one in three people in San Diego County who qualify for food stamps actually receives them. The federal government says that's the lowest rate in the country. Reporter Joanne Faryon brought us the story earlier this year.
