San Diego Museum of Man will be conducting CAT scans on four naturally mummified children from Peru. The images may reveal important clues about how the children died.

Dr. Ron Beckett of the Bioanthropology Research Institute, will be conducting the imaging on the 550-year-old mummies.

"What's exciting is what's inside -- the things you can't see. That's the beautiful aspect of this powerful imaging," said Beckett.

The mummies were discovered in a cave near Lupo, Peru. After undergoing CAT scans this weekend, the mummies will be back on display at the museum. Beckett said the information obtained from the scans will help enhance the information provided to museum visitors.
